Collaging bits of old phone cards, paper and other scraps found around her city, Rufaida Sehwail creates an image that is suggestive of the remnants of human connectivity within an urban landscape.
Born in Gaza in 1987, Rufaida received her BA in Fine Art from Al Aqsa University, Gaza in 2013. She currently works as a Graphic Designer and photographer. When she was only 17 years old, she participated in her first group exhibition entitled ‘Rtoosh’ at Al Mina Gallery, Gaza. Since then, she has participated in over 40 group and solo exhibitions both regionally and internationally and has participated in mural design in Gaza alongside other Palestinian artists. In 2011 she won the first prize for an installation work shown at the Gaza festival for visual art. In 2012 participated in the Kawkaba forum for Arab Plastic Artists in Egypt.
